  Perfect apartment for family of 4 vising the area wanting a good large clean pool area

  Liked: Really big apartment, perfect for family of 4. The pool was always clean with attendant on hand should you need anything. Sunbeds always available. Security on main entrance gave peace of mind. Overall very good

  Spacious apartment with a lovely pool

  Liked: Very spacious apartment. Lovely pool area and sea view from balcony. We used it as a base to see Lisbon and watch our son do the Ironman triathlon at Cascais. It worked well for both. Taxis were easy to order using the BOLT app and trains easy to catch from Sao Pedro Do Estoril station 5 minutes walk away. If you walk the full length of the platform and go down the steps there is a ticket office where English is spoken.

  Disliked: Lacked some utensils such as scissors. Shower went tepid after 3-4 minutes. There could be more basic information in flat on nearest supermarkets or recommended restaurants

  Ample apartment with a great view and location but desperately in need of updating and general care

  Liked: Host was friendly, view was stunning, location was very convenient, lots of small groceries and cafes all around, the pool was clean and beautiful with plenty of lawn chairs, condo was quiet with security at the entrance, good wi-fi.

  Disliked: Sparseness of furniture in general, existing furniture in need of updating, double bed mattress was too hard; towels and bed linens very old and stained and with a strong damp smell; one of the showers only had hot water for about 3 minutes at a time and was in a very bad shape; kitchen was lacking a number of basic things and was not clean, as we had to clean all the plates, utensils and cutlery before using them because they were stained and greasy; fridge in the kitchen was very old and rusty, the freezer had so much ice that one of the drawers couldn't even open (it was replaced on our last day there and we were asked to turn it off the night before, which was really disruptive and inopportune for us).

  Liked: We were very pleased with our 10 day stay at Bafureira Cascais Apartment. The apartment was much bigger than we thought and it suited us well. 2 adults and 2 teenagers especially with 3 toilets! The balcony has view of the sea. Access 2 pools, small play ground and basketball court and a gym. Most people who use the pool seem to be locals who live in the apartments so pool area is not busy. Very safe with security at entrance ( very friendly and top tip if the gyn is closed they have the key) The beach is less than 10 min walk either via the tunnel behind the complex ( via BP station) or via tunnel by the little train station at Sao Pedro do Estoril. We really liked that this is not a tourist area, most people we saw on the beach, local cafes bar, restaurants and supermarkets were locals. Very friendly area and most people helped us in English. The train to Lisbon or Cascais from Parede is a 20 min walk ( there is a small station 5 min walk away at Sao Pedro do Estoril but we couldn't work out how to purchase tickets from there). Another top tip is the chicken take away near Parede station has the most tasty chicken at a good price. The agency who manages the apartment is very helpful too, charging our check out time to suit as an example

  Perfect beach location for exploring Lisbon and the coastline

  Liked: This location suited us really well, as we were able to combine a city visit with time on the beach and relaxing. There is a station less than 10 minutes walk away with regular trains into Lisbon (c.35 mins) or Cascais (c.10 mins). The ticket machines in the station are really easy to use. Using the same card (navegante), you can buy day tickets for the whole transport region, or single journeys, or load it up with credit and use it across trains, buses, metro etc. which is what we did. It will take you all the way to Sintra (the bus from Estoril takes 30 minutes, so no need to go via Lisbon). We had some extremely hot days, so having the beach just 10 minutes walk away and the pool in the apartment complex was wonderful. The apartment itself is very large and airy, with a nice balcony, and the complex is very well kept, secure and family friendly. Given the weather, lots of people wanted to use the pool but it was easy to find a sun lounger or bench to sit on. It was very pleasant, even when busy. At first sight, the area looks a bit gritty and urban. The main road along the coast is something of a speed track for the locals. But there are actually a number of really nice bars and cafes just minutes from the apartment, for coffee and cakes (Garden Cafe), brunch (Flora and Fauna), or a drink watching the sunset (Ponte do Sal). You can also have a really decent meal on the beach front, or just a drink.

  Disliked: As mentioned, the apartment is really large, so it was surprising to find it lacking a number of basic things (i.e. scissors, a chopping board). It’s for four people but has just two chairs on the balcony, only three matching wine glasses etc. We stayed for nine days but had just one set of towels. We were given two tabs for the washing machine and two for the dishwasher. It’s not a big deal, but we’ve stayed for fewer days in much smaller places that had more in the cupboards. We’ve included quite a bit of info above as there was nothing like this for us on arrival. Mario, who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly, and told us a few helpful things, but there was zero information the apartment concerning local amenities.
