    Did NOT stay

Liked: Didn't stay in the end. There is no reception to check-in. The top room was very smelly, the aircon was portable and made a tremendous amount of noise and when I checked the mattress, I found a couple of bed bugs, so literally left the room and looked for another hotel.

Disliked: No reception, so you have to go somewhere else to check in or provide or your personal details via Whatsapp (lately I've been receiving several messages from spam) so no really comfortable. The whole city is paved with cobblestone, so if you have any wheeled suitcase, even a carry-on, it becomes a pain.

This friendly space hostel and affordable price mid September

Liked: The kitchen and the common area. High ceilings, quiet and spacious.

Disliked: The shower and the shaky doors. We have quite string wind don’t ring our stay of 3 nights and the wind shakes our door. We stuff toilet paper between gaps.

Liked: I was in Cascais for a concert, and the location was tops for walking home solo at midnight. Close enough to where the action is without being in it. The room was large and had a refrigerator (much appreciated in the summer!) and the most beautiful tiled bathroom. Abundant free parking was just 2 minutes away. It's a lovely old house with many thoughtful touches in the common areas, although I did not have the opportunity to use them. The host was great too - they checked in with me to make sure I arrived OK and that everything was OK with the room.

Disliked: Unfortunately, the room wasn't too soundproof. Between the workers on the scaffolding doing the renovations and the cleaning lady on the squeaky metal staircase leading up to the loft, sleep after 7 AM was just impossible. Which is unfortunate, because the cleaning lady was sweet and the house will look amazing when the work is done, I am sure. It's just that I had had a late night the night before and a long drive ahead of me and I had been looking forward to at least a minor sleep in! Otherwise, absolutely no complaints. I would stay here again but maybe only after the renos are finished.
