  Liked: We stayed 5 nights late October and were very comfortable in Carla and Nuno's place. Five minute stroll South to restaurants, the river, the large Mercado, five minute stroll West to the gorgeous beaches of Figueira da Foz and the oceanfront walk /esplanade. Very near and yet a super quiet, residential street... we slept well. The queen bed was comfortable, lots of closets for us to unpack (would have been a bit crowded with suitcases laying around) and a VERY nicely equipped kitchen! The large deck off the kitchen is a great extra space! Parking on the street was easy to use. Carla and Nuno were super available through WhatsApp to answer routing questions and to offer their favourite restaurants -- in town and when we were traveling toward them and out touristing, plus directions to supermarkets, etc. For our first foray into Portugal, it was nice having this personal connection. We especially appreciated that Carla met us at the apartment, showed us around, and ensured we were well settled.... such a refreshing service, compared to the many self-check-ins. The apartment was comfy, Figueira da Foz slow paced and peaceful in late October. We could easily return to just hang out...

  Liked: The apartment was modernized with the best appliances you could think of. It is on the top floor, which is on the second floor, and you have a brand lift that takes you there. You have plenty of space for a couple to enjoy. You can park your in front the house for free.

  The perfect place to stay in Figueira da Foz

  Liked: This was am excellent accommodation. We were met by the owner who provided the keys and also took time to orient us and tell us where different places were. She also sent links to a great deal of information, such as places to eat, the location of the casino and the market and how to use busses and ferries to get to the North and South beaches. In the room, she left a bottle of wine and pastries to welcome us. The residence was in walking distance to everything we needed. It is a beautifully appointed residence, with high end kitchen appliances and a washer/dryer. The apartment had a lovely large terrace, was quiet and had wonderful electric blinds that effectively blocked light at night. The bed was comfortable. Overall, it is really a terrific place.

  Disliked: There was very little not to like. The bathroom could use more lighting. Also, and explanation on how to use the washer/dryer would have been helpful. However, I am sure one would have been given had we asked.
