Between the Santa Catarina fort and the casino is the heart of Figueira: the seafront promenade, Claridade beach, terraces and most of the hotels. You can do everything on foot, and in summer it is lively until late.

Behind Buarcos, the Serra da Boa Viagem has pine woods, viewpoints and a few country houses with sea views. It is the area for those looking for silence, with a car.
Cova-Gala and the south bank
South of the bridge over the Mondego, the beaches of Cova-Gala and Costa de Lavos are longer and less crowded. There are apartments and the odd hotel, with the centre ten minutes away by car.
