    Beautiful view and great staff

Liked: Exceptional view, great bathrooms and breakfast had enough diversity while maintaining freshness. The location was close enough to the center while also being close to the highway. The property has a special vibe we really enjoyed and we appreciated how attentive the owner was. There is free parking on the street below the property.

Disliked: The room was a bit small (we could barely open a small suitcase on the floor).

Great authentic family hotel, with good value for money

Liked: Such a nice stay. The host Stefania was so lovely and warm. She makes sure you have everything you need; she stayed up for me checking in late, and on my last day I had a very early flight so I checked out in the night, she made me a packed breakfast to take to the airport! The hotel is on a steep hill so provides excellent views, but is not ideal if you have mobility issues. You can walk into town (takes about 20-25 mins), and back if you’re fit, or get a taxi for €5-10 each way. You can walk up to the gardens/Mont Palace but would recommend a taxi as it’s a 45 minute walk up a steep hill (like 45 degree angle!). You get a key on arrival to use for your door. There is also a fan/AC appliance if you want, wasn’t needed in October.

Disliked: The hotel is quaint and old, so expectedly there were not a lot of sockets to charge appliances, sometimes flickering lights, a bit of a wait for hot water in the shower, and thin walls, and because of this you should bring earplugs — there was a neighbour’s dog who barked for hours each night I was there.

    Authentic and pleasant villa

Liked: View to the city and the sea, breakfast, vibe, personal, garden, free parking nearby.

Disliked: A bit of old house smell in the room, we also experienced it in other accommodations on Madeira.

Liked: Free public parking available nearby, one can also reach the place by public transport. Great view, good breakfast. Fairly close to the center of Funchal although a climb is pretty steep.
