  Liked: Excellent location in the heart of old town Funchal yards from the beach, cable cars, market and restaurants (recommend the Villa Paradiso pizzas!).

  Disliked: The apartment was fine, just a bit dreary and dark inside. Needs cheering up with better lighting, a repaint, a few furniture upgrades and more plug sockets.

  Great apartment, central to Funchal Old Town

  Liked: We loved the location, top end of Santa Maria road, the street is famous for it's painted doors. It is opposite a lovely Square and walking distance of the whole Old Town, cable cars, port, supermarkets, etc. Host meets you (even with plane delays) and shares great local knowledge. You can get taxi straight to door too.

  lovely stay, absolutely recommended
