  Misleading

  Liked: Central. Water on the table and bottle of wine. And a traditional cake. Convenient to the hotel

  Disliked: Noisy. Building going on next door. Noisy in the morning round 7.30 till 7.30 at night. Air con didnt work. No coffee in the room and i didn't know which cartridges to buy. Fridge not working either despite telling the staff no one checked. Body lotion in bathroom had a terrible smell like it was there for ages and gone off.

  Liked: Location was great

  Disliked: There was construction both in the front and back of the building. Noise started early and a lot of dust as well

  Liked: Boutique with a lovely view of the park. Nicely laid out and spacious. Location superb in central Funchal. Air conditioned and reasonable WiFi. Staff were super helpful.

  Disliked: Sadly, there is significant building work right next door to the apartment with a huge crane outside the apartment. This should be advised and a discount offered at this point. Once building work is complete I’d give it 10/10 every time. Also the bed is really really firm and I found it difficult to sleep in.

  Beautiful apartment in perfect old town location

  Liked: We loved our stay at Madeira Gems Apartments. The location at the edge of the old town was fantastic, really easy to walk around and it was great to have the municipal garden opposite. The apartment was beautiful and we loved having the use of the hotel roof top terrace and pool. Staff were great and always happy to help. Highly recommended!

  Wonderful stay and truly a gem

  Liked: Wonderful little apartment, all kitchen and appliances we needed. Perfect location.

  Disliked: There weren't coffee pods provided so we needed to get some - not a big deal but needed some coffee so having a few for the stay to start would have been nice. I also prefer a bit more comfortable bed. Size was great, linens were perfect, it was just firm for me.

  Liked: We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which is part of the Madeira Gems Hotel. The apartment was clean and modern and slept the 5 of us comfortably with one person on the sofa bed in the lounge. There were 2 bathrooms and a lovely large balcony. The access to the rooftop pool and bar/restaurant was an added bonus and was very welcome after a day of exploring this stunning island. Pool towels are included. We also hired a car and parked in a public car park for 4.50 Euros per day and this was just a 5-10 minute walk away
