  It’s a good location, rooms we chose were good, reception staff a bit so-so but the restaurant and pool were fab!

  Liked: The rooms we had were great and the food was excellent. Overall thought it was a good deal.

  Disliked: The reception staff were a tad surly and some very short notice building maintenance and inspections across three days which impacted building access and power (of a four day stay!)Not so terrible, but felt they knew this was occurring way in advance.

  A comfortable stay in a very large corporate-feeling hotel

  Liked: A lot of hot food on offer via a buffet some of which suffered because of being kept hot.Excellent choices of fruits and cold meats etc

  Disliked: The buffet food was plentiful but since there was a lot to keep hot it was piled up in warming containers. Boiled eggs etc were hard boiled, croissants doughy and cold.

  Liked: Location

  Disliked: Breakfast was just ok - have had wonderful breakfast at Melia in Lisboa. The inability to freely use the sauna and steam rooms was also surprising - again, this is in comparison to the Lisboa Melia.

  Liked: The room was beautiful, great location to Lido Beach and restaurants. If I return to Madeira, this hotel will be my first choice to re-book.

  Liked: Great location, friendly staff, lovely pool.

  Disliked: The carpets in the corridor were pretty old and dirty which made you question the cleanliness of the rest of it.

  Liked: Luxurious rooms with fantastic views from balcony, perfect for sitting out on warm evenings.

  Disliked: The hotel was 40mins walk away from the main centre of Funchal.
