  What a nice place to stay!

  Liked: Clean and cozy apartament, great location, big parking lot nearby, kind and helpful landlords, yummy breakfast. And view from balcony was great!

  Lovely place in central Funchal with great hosts

  Liked: Great value for money. Agostinho and Catarina are lovely hosts, very helpful and attentive. The villa's location in Funchal is perfect, very central. 5-10 minutes walk to restaurants and the Plaza Madeira mall, which contains a supermarket; 15 minutes to the ocean promenade. The room we stayed in is spacious, and so is the bathroom. There is no air conditioner, although we did not need it in December. Note that no shampoo or body lotion are provided, so bring your own. Our room was facing the street and the parking lot, so there was occasional noise at night from cars and loud pedestrians; despite that, we managed to sleep very well. The beds were comfortable. There is a beautiful common terrace outside the room, where you can sit at a table and enjoy magnificent views of the ocean and the surrounding hills. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room (although you can ask for a kettle and they'll bring you one, with 2 cups); however, in the corridor there is a large communal refrigerator, with plastic containers, each with its room number. You can store your stuff there. Next to it there is a microwave, and a cupboard with dishes and utensils for all guests (there are 12 rooms). Continental breakfast was served from 8 - 10. The same every day: a small bowl of fresh fruit, some pastries, toast, bread, slices of cheese and ham, butter, jam, honey; scrambled eggs on toast / boiled egg / fried egg; water / juice; tea / coffee. And a slice of cake. Note that when you come down to the dining room, the hosts ask you for your choice of cold drink, hot drink and egg, and you'll have to wait about 10 minutes until breakfast is served. In case you need to leave early and cannot have breakfast, you can send a message to the hosts the night before via the Booking.com app, and they will prepare sandwiches and fruit for you and leave it in your room's container in the communal refrigerator.

  Very kind and helpful property owners. The location is close to attractions, yet still in a quiet area

  Liked: Great staff who are welcome and very helpful. The patios are nice to sit and enjoy the views and relax.

  It was ok, but wouldn’t repeat, sorry 🌸

  Liked: The location was okay — short walking distance to old town, supermarket, bus station/stop, etc., not too noisy, with a big parking area nearby. Breakfast served in a vintage style by a kind senhora. Daily room cleaning.

  Disliked: Stolen food. Constant bad smell from the bathroom. There was a lack of privacy, as the balcony next to ours was shared and accessible to all guests. Dated, sticky furniture.

  The nature in Madeira is absolutely stunning

  Liked: The location is really good, close to the centre. Breakfast was really tasty with enough food to feel full. Unfortunately, it was exactly the same every day and there were no vegetables. There was the access to the fridge, cutlery.

  Disliked: Lack of air-conditioning: it was really hot especially at night. The towels didn't smell well. The rest was ok. The public parking, which is just in front of the accommodation place, can be paid only with coins (or an app if you download it) and with the max. sum of 2,5 euros, which is enough only for a two/three hours so you have to think about it all the time.

  Liked: Location, cleanliness, common terrace with a city view

  Disliked: Outdated property, no variety on breakfast with low quality products, terrible coffee containing some surogate. Although the sign DO NOT DISTURB was hanging on the door, they enter into the room several times. No wi-fi signal in the room. Usually a guest house offers some kind of warmness, but we didn't feel welcome from the beginning of our booking, and later during our stay. Rude comments, especially the erderly lady. Considering the hospitality issues, we will not recommend this property.
