  Fighting to retain some charn

  Liked: The original part had some charm as do the gardens.

  Disliked: It has been renovated in a way that has dated quickly. There were few charging points and none near the bed. Breakfast was lacklustre.

  Excellent value, good location. Would stay here again

  Liked: Good location, right next to the cable car station and Monte tropical gardens. Decent free parking. Breakfast was good, selection of hot and cold foods. Staff were all very friendly. Welcome drink on arrival.

  Disliked: Only negative about the room was no electric sockets near the bed.

  Next to the Monte Palace gardens

  Liked: The room was a good size, comfortable with a good view. The bathroom was also a good size but a bit tired.

  Disliked: Breakfast was basic. The coffee was the worst we found in a week on Madeira! Yuck! The bacon was appalling and a waste of meat. Pastries were basic.

  It did not meet our expectations

  Liked: The garden, atmosphere, design, staff

  Disliked: Breakfast could be better, there was not much variety. Our room was in second floor, The elevator didn’t stop on this floor, so we had to go up to the 3rd floor and then walk down to the 2nd.
