  Great base for getting around

  Liked: Great base for exploring Madeira, even if you don't have a car. Airport bus drops off in front of the building. Buses every 10 minutes into town and is just beside a hotel for the tour company pick ups. Good supermarket across the road. This is not luxury accommodation but rather excellent value for money. The apartment is clean and functional, kitchen well equipped with everything you need. Lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The owner Maria gave loads of tips and even left leaflets for my areas of interest. She really is a personal tour guide. Box of Madeiran chocolates on arrival was very kind gesture. As a solo female traveller, I enjoyed staying here.

  Lovely view

  Liked: The balcony indeed has a magnificent view, we spent most of our time out there. Elevator always worked and we always were able to find parking. Supermarket and bus station real close. The kitchen was a bit small, but very well appointed, I managed to cook some lovely meals there.

  Disliked: The beach seems close, but it's close as the crow flies 🤣 also, it's not the best. Even with the balcony door wide open, the sleeping nook gets quite stuffy, no AC, could have done with at least a fan.

  Liked: We’ve had the most amazing stay at Shearwaters- Sounds of the sea. Apartment was equipped with everything we needed, everything was as described and the balcony with the sea view was our absolute favourite. It was a very easy self check in as there is a keypad and the owner sent very clear directions about the access to the property. We could not be happier with our decision to stay there. The owner was incredibly helpful and kind, truly easy to reach out to and all of her recommendations for Madeira were excellent and much appreciated. Thank you for everything!! Can’t wait to go back!

  Perfect apartment in a great location. Everything you needed was provided. Perfect location and nothing can beat the vie

  Liked: Excellent location. Very easy to travel to from airport using the airport bus. Stops right outside door. Also great for bus to take you into Funchal. Quiet end of town. Perfect. Also new supermarket opened just opposite apartment building. Lots of restaurants around. Been to this end of town before. We love it.

  Disliked: Nothing not to like.

  Awesome apartment, we highly recommend

  Liked: Great views, very well equipped apartment and the location is perfect.

  Disliked: Neighbours partying until late. But this is not the owners fault. However, I would advise the owners to talk to the front neighbour about the noise.
