Fabulous
Gorgeous retreat
Liked: This place felt like home and we desperately wish to return and stay here again. The house was supplied with EVERYTHING - the kitchen had the most supplies of anywhere we have ever rented. The views were incredible and the house was beautiful and comfortable. We loved having a giant dining table and a separate space downstairs to hang out. Our kids felt very safe and comfortable here. We actually preferred being slightly away from the centre of Furnas (no smell of the caldeiras, it felt like a retreat, easy parking, still close to all the action!). Washer/dryer combo was an added bonus. Our kids loved the company of the friendly cats on the balcony. Communication with the hosts was excellent.
Superb
Liked: Very well suited for young families: baby crib and high chair, books for 3-5 year olds, baby gates, fenced-in yard. Lots of towels for showering as well as dark towels for the hot springs. Great balcony with view of the steam rising from the Caldeiras. There seems to be an unofficial cat living here: he often paid us a visit when the doors were open! Very friendly, our toddler loved him!
Disliked: Beds were very stiff. Because the kitchen and living room are on different floors, it was a bit hard to cook while letting the kids play - however this setup (floor 1: kitchen + bathroom + bedroom 1; basement: living room + 2 bedrooms + bathroom) was on the house description but just in case you did not see it.

Liked: The house was perfect: Very confortable. Nice kitchen, modern interiour and good rooms. Nice views from the balcony. Good beds. Location in Furnas was perfect to do sightseeing both at the northern part of the island (nice walks over there and scenic coastal route) and the south part of the islands (villa Franca island)
Disliked: The town of Furnas itself was a bit dissapointing.: Only small supermarkets, limited number of restaurants and for most of the activities there was an entree fee. So it felt too much touristic in that sense for us.
