  I enjoyed my 8-day stay in August at Aligus 1. The value and comfort were good for what it was

  Liked: The location was good. Could walk to cafes, shops, restaurants. The place was clean, and comfortable with AC. Space was great with a separate living area and kitchen.

  Disliked: While location is great, it is up a hill that could be difficult for some guests to walk. I didn’t have hot water for most of my showers. Didn’t mind as most days were hot, but could be an issue for other guests. Also, just found a few things that were missing from the kitchen. There was no toaster/toaster oven, lacking a couple cooking utensils, such as a flipper. There is a washing machine, but no dryer and nowhere outside to hang clothes to dry. It took a few days to dry some clothes inside on the drying rack due to the humidity. I have stayed in another AL that had a dual washer/dryer and it was great! Especially when there isn’t a patio or outdoor space.

  Perfect location for Seman do Mar

  Liked: We had a great stay with Aligus 1 it's super cozy and was perfect for me and my husband. Its in a great central area of Horta, within walking distance to the avienda and all shopping, perfect if you're wanting to attend Seman do Mar. Besides the cleaning aspect we had a great time and would recommend Aligus 1. Thank you for the accommodations

  Disliked: We did notice a strong mildew smell upon arriving. And it seemed the apartment had not been cleaned upon us arriving. I did contact the property owner and requested for someone to come by and do a full cleaning and also change the bedsheets. Someone did come by however cleanup was minimal. In my opinion cleaning upon renters arrival and airing out of the apartment needs to be worked on.

  This property is suitable for a very short stay

  Liked: The property was clean. The bathroom was very good. The bed was firm but otherwise comfortable. It was within walking distance of the ferry terminal and the downtown waterfront.

  Disliked: There was no window. There was translucent glass in the entry door which was the only and limited source of daylight. There was a nice looking laundry machine that I was looking forward to using but there was no dryer or drying rack. Laundry detergent was supplied the day after I arrived.

  Cheap for a reason

  Liked: Located on the side of the town but walking distance to the center. Facilities for cooking are ok. There is some space in front to park your car but if this is not free there is more parking possible on the same road.

  Disliked: There is no window in this property! This is not made clear in the description. I would not rent it if I knew that the only way to air the place is to open the front door straight to the road or a shatter on front door. The fridge is not working properly and making horrible noise, which during the night is unbearable...I had to put earplugs to be able to sleep. There is as well a smell of dump in the property which they are trying to mask with the chemical air freshener. Towels smelled of mould. Drying rack for dishes is not fitting the space next to the sink and it's wooden so already covered with mould. Now I know why the price was so low.
