Liked: The visit to Monsanto and the stay in this beautiful historic house were the highlights of our trip to Portugal. We loved strolling around Monsanto, especially in the golden hour as the sunset light bathed the giant boulders and stone houses, and relaxing on the breathtaking terrace of the house. We very much appreciated the detailed instructions from the owner on where to park the car and how to check in.

Liked: Very cozy and quaint! We had great views from the patio and the beds were very comfortable.
Disliked: The bathroom is tiny and there’s nowhere to put anything (no counter space). It was quite labor intensive to haul our bags uphill from a parking lot far away, but that is the price you pay for being in such a historic and unique town.
