  Liked: Absolutely loved our stay here! The house is incredibly cozy and, most importantly, spotless. Honestly, it was even cleaner than our own home! 😄 It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you’re traveling with a small group of friends or a large family. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. They even arranged a late check-out for us, which we really appreciated. You can also buy their delicious homemade wine, both white and red. And this is not just an ordinary house — it used to be a winery, so you’re literally staying in the middle of real vineyards, surrounded by a beautiful fruit garden with apples, pears, cherries, and more. There’s also a great swimming pool, a billiard table, and so many thoughtful little details that make the stay really special. Everything is very well thought out. We highly recommend this place and would definitely love to come back!

  Nicely renovated home in a charming townhouse

  Liked: It was a good size, fully renovated, with 2 bedrooms. It was an old and charming building with history and character. The manager was a lovely lady and very accommodating. I had to check in to an important meeting and she made sure to get us in ontime and with wifi. It was all very rushed on our part but she really came through for me.

  Disliked: No dealbreakers here, but getting to the property can be challenging. The village roads are very narrow and steep. We were afraid to drive in so we parked off the national road and walked into the village.

  Liked: I normally do not rate the various places my wife and I stay. I was compelled to rate Casa do Cruzeiro Quinta do Couto. It started by being greated by Joao. He gave us a tour of the Quinta explaining the family history of the property along with showing us the accomodations. The cleanliness of the entire property was exceptional. The pool was an added bonus for us as we didn't think we'd use it much, but we did and it was perfect! A basket of fresh cherries and a home bottled port was a very unexpected surprise. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay, I cannot recommend Casa do Cruzeiro Quinta do Couto enough!

  Disliked: Everything exceeded our expectations, there was nothing we did not like.

  Loved our stay – excellent location, great place & staff. Highly recommended!

  Liked: Great family place in Douro! While driving from Lisbon to Porto, we stayed for 2 nights in the Douro valley. We booked a whole apartment in Casa do Cruzeiro Quinta do Couto, since we were 4 adults (me and my wife + 2 adult kids), and it turned out to be an excellent choice! The place is about 10 min drive from the n222 (the main road along the Douro river) and is located right on the road. The place itself was amazing! 1 room with king size bed + shower/toilet, 2 rooms with double bed, and another room with single bed. All beds were comfortable, with plenty of blankets, sheets and so on. There's a fully stocked kitchen (and i do mean fully) and table, so you can cook whatever you want and eat indoor, a living room with Netflix ready TV, an outsize large barbeque corner with large table, chairs and all the equipment needed, a game room with Pool table, and of course, an amazing pool with sunbathing beds!! There's even a washing machine so you can do your laundry while there - cleaning supplies were there so we didn't have to buy anything. The place was super clean, fully functional, and all the equipment was working great. The host was extremely helpful, provided places to eat, placed to shop for food, activities and more. Overall, we loved our stay – excellent location, great place & staff. Highly recommended!
