  Liked: Sizeable accommodation in a quiet area, offering stunning views on the valley. The staff was lovely.

  Disliked: Access to the quinta is slightly tricky, and I'd stay the room was pricey for what is was.

  A vineyard oasis

  Liked: We loved our stay here! The property has an expansive view of a valley while nestled in a working vineyard. The host was amazingly kind. The breakfasts were so delicious and allowed us to skip lunch because they were so plentiful.

  A well kept winery to relax at

  Liked: It was a nice Portugese breakfast. The bread was spread out nicely with options and jelly's to use. The bacon and eggs were well made and tasted good. We enjoyed the coffee each morning and the good service provided by the team.

  Disliked: A little more light on the road and maybe a couple of mirrors to help us in navigating the corners in case some one else was driving on the road.

  Great place to stay if you are looking for an authentic experience in the Douro Valley

  Liked: The hotel is run by a lovely family who also live on the vineyard. The building is old and rustic in a good way, which gives it so much charm. The sundeck and tiny pool (hottub size) are lovely, overviewing the vally. The breakfast was very good, with plenty options. We especially loved their homemade jams. They generously gave us some to take with us. Everything was spotlessly clean, and our room was thoroughly cleaned every single day. The location is perfect if you're travelling by car, situated conveniently between two cities and making it easy to explore the surrounding area. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible horse-riding experience through their vineyards. It was absolutely unforgettable, and we're so grateful to the family for organizing this activity for us.

  Unbelievably beautiful stay

  Liked: Absolutely beautiful, charming location and estate. The atmosphere is indescribable. Friendly staff, Annabelle was so thoughtful and hospitable, we had a great stay and enjoyed meeting Louis who is the 10th generation owner. The property and rooms are beautifully renovated with an eye for preserving the estate's original character. We stayed in a room overseeing the river and I can highly recommend it if you want to experience a rustic quinta and personal service. The outdoor areas were also nice to enjoy and relax around and you can take a walk around the vineyards.

  Disliked: Everything was honestly great! I was surprised to hear from the owner that some don't like this kind of stay, expecting hotel amenities, a gym etc. I've stayed at five star hotels and this honestly is incomparable; it's unique, rustic one of a kind and such a beautiful experience. If you are not coming by car I do have to say you will be able to experience less of what the region has to offer and getting to the quinta would probably be by taxi.
