  A Hidden Gem in the Douro Valley!

  Liked: Dois Lagares is a truly wonderful place to stay. We took the train from Porto to Pinhao and Dois Lagares is close enough from the town (where the train station is) so you can walk (if you like to walk.). Dois Lagares is a beautiful and peaceful place to relax to take in the beauty of the Douro Valley. The vineyard is so beautiful and is managed by Bruno(who we met) and his brother. They are the 5th generation! Bruno gave us an informative tour of the vineyards and afterwards we enjoyed a tasting of their delicious wines in their unique (and very cool) tasting room. Bruno and his Mom, Amelia, were so friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome! Our room was simple but nicely decorated. It was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the lovely breakfast each morning(which was included.) Another pleasant surprise was the small swimming pool on top of one of the terraces in the vineyard....there's an awesome view of the Douro River. We really enjoyed everything about our stay at Dois Lagares and we would stay there again if we ever return to the Douro Valley!

  Nice newer place with modern design and in a great location

  Liked: Amazing location and beautiful area. I wish we had stayed longer.

  Disliked: The only issue was that the shower was poorly designed and flooded the entire bathroom. We cleaned up the mess, but it really needs to be redesigned to contain the water. Used the Google Maps link and it took us to the wrong location.

  Excellent modern boutique hotel with everything you need!

  Liked: Great location. A short walk from town and the train station. It’s a small boutique hotel with only 4 rooms so very quant and quiet. I lived the little balcony which was nice to hang out on the property and drink a glass of wine to watch the sunset.

  Disliked: The bed was a little too firm for my taste.

  Comfortable and welcoming; ideal for seeing more of the Douro

  Liked: Simple breakfast but quite adequate. Great views down the valley to Pinhao from the balcony. The purchased hamper was well thought out, most enjoyable especially the wine and good vfm

  Disliked: Parking is a bit tight, but then the property is sited on the side of a steep hill

  Genuine, quiet, romantic and lovely all around experience

  Liked: The setting in the Duoro valley, beautiful architecture of the winery buildings, small intimate scale of the property and superb knowledge and friendliness of Bruno the vintner/owner made for an outstanding visit. I would recommend both staying at the winery and doing the wine tasting with Bruno. You will learn a lot!
