Exceptional
More than we expected!
Liked: We had an amazing stay! The beautiful grounds, stunning views, wonderful people, and fresh, delicious food made it such a special experience. You do need a car, as the hotel isn’t right near the train station, but it’s an easy drive. We loved our time here!
Disliked: Nothing really.
Stylish and peaceful Duoro Valley retreat
Liked: Ventozelo is more than a hotel, it’s an experience that resets your mind and body and restores the sense of peace that is so needed while traveling in busy areas of Porto. From the breathtaking views of Duoro Valley at every corner of this property to the romantic restaurant, infinity pool, wine museum, cute rooms with an outdoor space scattered around the property and vineyards surrounding the estate, every detail is thoughtfully designed to perfection. Combined with the warm, courteous staff, it is a place you’ll never want to leave.

Liked: Beautiful location to enjoy a relaxing stay.
Disliked: Dealing with the road closure since we had a car. The staff was very helpful escorting us through a back road but it required some pre-planning for excursions.
Fantastic view of the Douro valley
Liked: Fantastic view from the top of the Douro valley. Beautiful sunset moments. Good organic homegrown food. Only issue was the street closure which means an extra hour of winding roads to get to the estate. Not their fault and they tried their best to find alternative routes
A Magical Douro Valley Escape!
Liked: The pool offers a stunning view of the Douro River cutting through the layers of lush, sloped vineyards. The estate beautifully preserves its original historic structures, and the rooms and common areas feel incredibly cozy, natural, and tastefully styled. We loved the two audio-guided vineyard walks, which were a fantastic way to learn about biodiversity and grape cultivation while soaking in the valley views. A huge thanks to the exceptional team: Inês gave us a wonderful wine tasting tour—she was so cheerful, passionate, and attentive, you would never guess it was her very first tour! At the restaurant, Sommelier Marco was incredibly professional, using his deep knowledge to pair wines that took our delicious dinner to another level. The front desk team was also super helpful and efficient throughout our stay. Stay 2 nights to fully enjoy the whole experience!
Idyllic setting
Liked: We only had lunch here, and I will say this idyllic place has one of the most amazing views we experienced in the Douro Valley. Our food and wine were great, and we spent some time just taking in the breath taking views. We were on a tour so I’m not even sure how we got there, but it was worth it.
