  Exceptional in every detail and fully deserving of a perfect 10!

  Liked: Absolutely everything. Ângelo and João are wonderful hosts, and their hospitality makes the whole stay feel genuinely special. The house itself is beautiful, full of history, character and thoughtful details, with lovely décor, great comfort and the added charm of the cats. The peace and quiet are wonderful, especially in the late afternoon by the pool, with perfectly chosen music in the background. Meals are served outside in the garden with such care and attention, and breakfast - much of it featuring produce straight from the garden - was truly exceptional. At times, it honestly felt as though I could have been staying at a private villa in Tuscany. I also absolutely loved the “living library” - such a beautiful, original and generous idea! What stands out most, though, is the extraordinary attention to detail. Before arriving, I have to admit I was slightly intrigued, even suspicious, when I saw a 9.9 rating, but now I completely understand it. This place genuinely deserves a perfect 10. Exceptional!

  A cosy and stylish home away from home

  Liked: We felt immediately at home at Villa D‘Aurora. João and Ângelo are the perfect hosts. They have a love for details, be it the tasteful interiors, the luxurious bed linens or - last but not least - the fantastic breakfast that is not only a feast for the palates but also for the eyes. Be sure to try João’s scrambled eggs and the homemade jams! The Villa consists of only four guest rooms. Being there almost on our own made us feel like we were in our own holiday home, including a pool, an orchard and a family of cute cats. Ah, the luxury! The house is located 15 mins from Ponte de Lima in a little village on the riverside (15 mins walk down to the river beach) and the perfect starting point for trips around the Minho region. Ângelo provided us with routes and tips for restaurants which we gladly tried out. He also organized E-bikes for us to explore the beautiful Ecovia path along the riverside bench. All in all a wonderful experience- we will surely be back!

  Disliked: Not a biggie but: The bathroom of our suite had no door, which wasn’t a problem as one can use the whole house like one’s own and thus provide enough privacy when needed. I took the opportunity to explore the living library - a time well spent

  Liked: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful countryside Villa. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The grounds are immaculate and picturesque, and our suite was tastefully decorated. Our hosts João and Ângelo were the perfect hosts and they catered to our every need. We were treated to fresh fruit from the orchard, homemade juices and speads every morning at breakfast which was all beautifully presented. We had a lovely relaxing stay and João and Ângelo provided first class hospitality. If you are seeking a quiet, tranquil, country stay, I would definitely recommend you stay here.

  Liked: Such a beautiful property. It truly is paradise. This was our second visit and it exceeded our expectations once more. The finest of Portuguese hospitality- the two host could not do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable. Fresh food from the garden was prepared daily for us - simply delicious. Every detail was meticulously attended to ensuring a flawless experience. From check-in to checkout you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for somewhere amazing to stay in country side Portugal don't look past Villa D'Aurora Country Suites. 11 out of 10!

  Glad I booked it. No other stay will top this

  Liked: My initial desire is to leave a bad impression on this experience. But just so it doesn’t get a lot of attention and I can still afford to go whenever I want. One thing you have to understand is that this is not a simple bed and breakfast. This is a unique opportunity to be a guest at Ângelo and Nuno’s villa, and if you think I’m exaggerating then book it and see for yourself. The whole experience is best in class and you are truly treated as if you were a lost family member that they just now discovered. Or better even. We loved everything: the pool had plenty of places to lay down to enjoy a sunbath or just read by the shade; their homegrown garden had plenty of fruits and vegetables that you could just pick up and eat or wait for them to be served to you in their delicious cooked meals. Yeah, the breakfast was amazing with a selection of their homegrown produce and other sweet surprises to start your day. The room was great with plenty of space and the cleanest I have ever experienced. Everything smelled so great and fresh. Even the scent around the house was tranquillizing. And the hosts were amazing. Very welcoming and always helpful, with a laid back attitude. They live in the house but you don’t see them unless you are looking for them. Kinda like wizards. You don’t get better than this in many places and I’ve had my share. There was no single thing to dislike about it. Simply mesmerizing. I’d say this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I honestly hope it’s not. I will definitely be back.
