  Liked: We had a fantastic family stay at Pestana Porto Santo! The staff were outstanding – always friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring towards our family, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our kids absolutely loved the entertainment team, who did an amazing job keeping them engaged and happy. The facilities are excellent, and the food was consistently very good. And, of course, the beautiful beach is simply breathtaking! A wonderful experience overall, made even more special by the incredible staff. We would definitely love to return!

  Disliked: Nothing at all! We genuinely enjoyed every aspect of our stay. It was a wonderful family experience, and we're already looking forward to returning!

  We made the most of it

  Liked: Our apartment was fabulous, however we did pay a huge amount of money for 6 nights for 2 of us. The food was good The manageress was great and allowed us some extra dinner tables in the exclusive restaurants, however we thought we could use these anyway You could find a quiet place well away from the bar and the restaurant We used the Spa at extra cost

  Disliked: Check in was appalling, spent an hour stood in a queue at reception, while 50 people were sorted from in front & behind us. Then we went off find our own room with our bags because all the staff were still busy. Alot of staff were matter of fact in the bar areas, probably not happy to be there, not cheerful at all. There must have been 500 or more guests inc lots of children (originally I thought 800 to 1000), the web site looks very glamourous and 5 star, but it was dreadfully busy, the restaurants were heaving with 3 staggered sittings each for breakfast lunch and dinner, our slots were 10.30am, 2.30pm and 9.30pm. (we would normally do 8.30am, 1pm and 7pm). This was not our type of place. Definitely not 5 star for the way it made us feel. I have just seen that the website says it has capacity for 270. I don't believe there were only 270 people in the hotel while we were there it felt at least double that. It was not the luxurious, calm, relaxing holiday we were expecting. I will investigate much more in future. It's very true that first impressions are the most important.

  Liked: Spacious room with comfortable bed and nice patio area. Excellent pool area. Good facilities and a wonderful sandy beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

  Disliked: One bed had a plastic undersheet, which was noisy and less comfortable. The buffet dining area was extremely crowded. You were provided with the times when you could eat, which simply didn't work for us as we had golf tee times, etc. which imposed different schedules.
