Fabulous
Good apartment, pleasant historic town
Liked: Location - 1 block from beach (and great restaurant), easy walk to Vila do Conde centre restaurants and Lidl. Specious (living room, hot room, outside). Comfortable beds. Thanks for coffee pods & washing up liquid / sponge.
Disliked: Bigger double bed would be ideal. Shared hall area isn't great - eg the light times-out far too quickly. Buy another 3 mugs and a cafetiere (to make filter coffee)
Overall we enjoyed the apartment and our stay
Liked: The location and proximity to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores was excellent.
Disliked: The sound coming from the near by day care/school was very loud when on the outdoor terrace. The sound of children is lovely but some might find it too loud. The lighting in the hallways was not the best. It often would shut off as we were going down or up the stairs putting us in complete darkness on the staircase.
A great base for a seaside holiday
Liked: Practically on the sea front the Penthouse was a comfortable seaside base. The swimming pool (around the corner) is a great area for lounging and chilling out. We all enjoyed the rooftop room too. The staff and management were extremely helpful and responsive to our queries. We had a really happy stay here and loved Vila do Conde. It is a great holiday location.
Disliked: There were no instructions or signage for the swimming pool and we wasted time trying to find it. The details should be on the leaflet. The apartment could do with comfortable outdoor furniture ( eg sun-loungers) to enjoy the rooftop. Also it would be helpful for self catering guests if there was basic stuff such as salt, pepper, sugar in the kitchen. Most self catering places provide this and more.
I would not stay at apartment again
Liked: Very well appointed apartment, subject to comments below, and nice pool area
Disliked: Had to pick up keys from local restaurant who didn't have any information about apartment location and number. Subsequent contact with apartment host only by phone and WhatsApp which was difficult due to their limited english. In apartment unable to connect to WiFi and unable to use gas hob.
