A quirky house, in a wonderful location, with an excellent host

The accommodation was extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable. It was nothing like what was advertised, and

Disliked: The apartment was filthy and smelled strongly of damp. The bathroom bin contained women’s underwear, the shower was broken, the microwave was dirty and the towels were old and dirty. There were cigarette butts left in the BBQ. There was no proper place to dry or hang our clothes, despite this being advertised as a facility. There was also no TV, even though a TV was advertised. The apartment was extremely poorly lit and I had to use the light on my phone to get around. The owner’s clothes were still stored under the bed. Overall, the apartment was not properly cleaned, prepared or as described on Booking.com. Needless to say, we only stayed for one night. We were so unhappy and uncomfortable with the condition of the apartment that we had no choice but to book alternative accommodation. Staying for the remaining three nights would have completely ruined our holiday and made our stay extremely unhappy.

If you aren’t fairly fit you would have a problem getting to the property. Also the stairs in the property are steep. H

Liked: The terrace and position in Alicante. Edu was very helpful. I enjoyed my stay.

Disliked: The shower needed mending. Lots of steps. Cutlery was limited, lots of spoons but 1 knife & 1 fork. No sharp knife.

Great location, Eduardo was an amazing host! The property itself has some cute posters and antics, love the theme! Indee

Liked: The location is great, we didn’t find it at first, but then it’s just a bit further up the steps, not the main steps but a bit to the side. Yes, a lot of stairs especially in the heat but you get to see some cute streets that’s are very typical of Spain.

Disliked: The sofa bed wasn’t comfy, we found it difficult to fold out. Regardless of this aspect the location and having Eduardo as the host out won this and we only stayed for a couple of nights so this wasn’t a major issue. It just could be an issue if you are staying for longer.

A comfortable, quirky apartment in a very interesting location

Liked: It was a pleasure to stay in Eduardo's house. He met me to give me the keys and show me around. It's in a very interesting area of Alicante, on the hill above the town and below the castle. The apartment is very comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of interesting and quirky artwork etc, and it's a short walk to the restaurants, shops, castle and beach.

Disliked: The house is on a steep hill and only accessible via a lot of steps - that didn't bother me, but some people might struggle to access it
