Fabulous
Liked: Excellent service, great room to the street!
2026 motorbike adventure
Liked: Amazing friendly staff right by the walls. Safe secure parking for the motorbike. Sent clear directions to the hotel. Food amazing. Lovely room with a small balcony over the street. Busy but quiet at night. Air conditioning in room. Fab hairdryer and shower.
Disliked: Nothing to complain about. Our Spanish is not very good but it wasn't a problem we got well looked after.
A good choice
Liked: Position good language problems at check in but very helpful. Disappointed that restaurant terrace was closed.
Disliked: high ceilinged room was very comfortable.
Beautiful old building and location. Avila is a gem of a city and very walkable

Disliked: Just a personal thing but I never like being put in a family room on my own, just because no families have booked.
Lost track of what people expect from a hotel
Liked: Charming old world feeling.
Disliked: Completely overpriced. Also not properly cared for, like broken door handle and window clip. No fridge in the bedroom (essential in the climate). No bin in room. No leisure facilities, no pool, no lounge. Breakfast was less than average. Also we reserved car parking when we booked, which we assumed was in the (very high) cost, but had to pay extra for it.
Loved my stay
Liked: I arrived very late to Hotel Cancelas but they escorted me to Las Moradas around the corner but still the same building. I have stayed at Las Moradas several times in the past two years and I love it there. The staff are so kind and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast at Las Moradas is incredible. I recommend it highly.
