Exceptional
Excellent option for visiting Baeza and Ubeda
Liked: Lovely room, tastefully decorated, comfortable bedding, modern bathroom. Exceptional, varied breakfast. Welcoming staff. Very well situated. Easy check-in.
Disliked: I would have liked black-out curtains. We got a room facing the street and you could hear some noise from the cars driving by. We found a parking space in the public car park nearby, but this just nitpicking.
Liked: Nearly all
Disliked: Bath has weird design, it was cold and weird as a result. The same weird design with lights.
Several Major Disappointments
Liked: The breakfast was very good, although we would have preferred a buffet to help reduce food waste. The reception area was pleasant and welcoming. There is also a convenient parking area directly in front of the hotel for loading and unloading luggage.
Disliked: Disappointing stay for a supposed 4-star hotel. We booked a room with a mezzanine, but were given one without, despite the online pictures. The bathroom had mould, a clogged shower drain which led a big flood, and a broken shower head holder. The door wouldn't lock and left a 2 cm gap, offering virtually no privacy. Very impractical when travelling with a baby. The advertised coffee machine was also missing, and the swimming pool was dirty, with soil in the water. Far below the expected standard.
Liked: Staff super nice and helpful, room is nice and cozy.
Disliked: Breakfast starts late (in my opinion) 9Am to 11Am, but the staff was nice enough to prepare a small picnic for me as a replacement everyday.
Well located hotel in a quiet street
Liked: We were able to leave our luggage before check in time and it was taken up to our room and the air con put on for us by the time we checked in which was a nice touch. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk of everything. There is a lovely buzzy atmosphere in Plaza de Espana at night and loads of bars/restaurants everywhere. Take the electric tourist train through the historic old town - the driver is very knowledgeable. Under cover car park just a few minutes walk away for 10€/24 hours.
Disliked: The old wardrobe needs replacing. The main handle came off immediately and the bottom drawer was stuck so we couldn't use it. There is no mirror in the bedroom - it also needs a full length mirror. No safe in the room. The mini cooler didn't get cool at all - it was warmer than the room and no temperature control to adjust it.
