A lovely apartment a few minutes from a fantastic beach

Liked: This is a lovely apartment in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from a fantastic beach and some nice restaurants. Supermarket, cafes, a few little shops all very close by. Begur old town is beautiful and a 10 minute drive away. Girona also very beautiful is less than an hour. This was a great base for us to explore the area. Host is super friendly and very quick to respond when we requested towels and bedding.

Disliked: Not a criticism but the second bedroom is much smaller than the main bedroom meaning it’s probably only suitable for kids since there is very little space or storage. We had teenagers and they struggled to put their stuff anywhere.

Excellent apartment in a beautiful area, great for a chilled out family holiday

Liked: An excellent apartment. The balcony is a great place to relax with a lovely view to the sea and the Iles Medes. Excellent pool for adults and kids and it is easy to sunbathe on the artificial grass next to it. There is an alley down the hill which accesses the Platja de Racó beach. We thought we might need to drive to Begur but the local area by the beach and on the strip up the hill has a really good range of restaurants (nb make reservations). Sa Reira is 20 mins walk and is lovely with again great eating options. Plenty for kids to do in area - we went snorkeling in isla Medes with Unisub.

Disliked: Could do with more written visitor information. Not a negative but just practical point - begur area is hilly so the walk up and down the hill might be a problem if you have mobility issues.

What could have been excellent was disappointing

Disliked: The host & booking.com rely on Google maps to provide instructions on finding the property. The road names on Google maps are not accurate and the host should have checked and provided correct information. The property was not very clean and black mould in both bathrooms (showers and one ceiling) was very unpleasant. There was a complete absence of information on contacts, emergency services, local amenities etc. The use of plastic plates gives a bad impression. Maybe the host should stay in the property to understand its shortcomings - it could be excellent, for the price charged it was very disappointing.

  Unfair Early Checkout

Liked: The location walking distance to platja de pals

Disliked: Check-out was supposed to be at 11am, as stated in my reservation. I asked if we could stay just 45 minutes longer and was initially told yes, but then that changed to no. To make things worse, the cleaning agency asked me to leave before 10am—even though I had paid until 11am. They told me, quite unpleasantly, that another guest was arriving at 1pm(even though the official check-in time is 3pm) and as a consequence I had to leave max by 10am. It felt like I was being pushed out early just because they had decided to let the next guest check in sooner, without informing me. After paying considerable money for my vacation, I expected to enjoy them without being put under unnecessary pressure—especially due to poor planning on their part. Being rushed to leave earlier than the agreed check-out time, was unfair and disappointing. I was also told the owners would be notified. The way this was handled really impacted the overall experience.
