  Did its job for a one night stop

  Liked: Check in was good. We had an English speaking lady and she was very welcoming and chatty, explaining lots about the hotel and the area. Clean towels and nice toiletries in the bathroom. Good coffee and tea selection. Free bottle of drinking water Walking distance to the town and Guggenheim Museum

  Disliked: Instructions for arriving by taxi could be clearer, we ended up in circles and finally got dropped off in the car park of the funeral parlour behind the hotel and walked down numerous flights of stairs to get to reception. Finding the correct door and entry using the keypad was difficult. Reception is on first floor which is signposted but the lift is not. Its to the right easy to find but could be a warmer welcome. No side table at the left hand side of the bed so glass of water, mobile phone and glasses were on the floor. Economy room is very small, we didn't appreciate how small and thought we could cope for one night but it is extremely tight. One case had to go on the floor next to the bed and take care not falling over it and the phone etc. Lots of external light and curtains didn't do a good job keeping the orangey glow out, if you need darkness take a sleep mask. There's a few bars, a restaurant and a kebab shop in the square and it was very noisy until 3am with people singing and shouting. It appears the top floors are private apartments so there was a lot of noise all night. In particular, you heard the waste water in the drain pipes all night long. Very poor night's sleep, first and worst one in a Bypillow hotel.

  ByPillow was the perfect priced and comfortable hotel we have stayed in for a very long time

  Liked: The hotel was well positioned for walking all over Bilbao. From the very helpful receptionist to the exceedingly well equipped room we could in no way fault our stay there.

  Stay was very enjoyable

  Liked: We were greated by Phoebe who was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. Venue is ideally located close to the old town and the Guggenheim museum. We also appreciated the free luggage lockers in the venue post checkout.

  Disliked: A bit noisey outside for a while the first night but other than everything was perfect.

  Liked: great location, very friendly staff. The room was big and modern and very comfortable. AC worked great and we were surprised how quiet it was, given the location. Can definitely recommend!

  Liked: Highly recommended. The room is clean and spacious, with storage space and a hairdryer. There is a table equipped with an electric kettle and a small refrigerator. The bed is super comfortable, and the towels and linens are fresh and pleasant. The bathroom is convenient and stocked with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The location is excellent—just a few minutes' walk from the train station and close to the Old City. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe in the area. The young woman at the reception helped me with every request.

  Disliked: The only downside is that the window—as is the case in many places in Spain—faces the nextdoor building but it but not right up against it. so I could see the sky
