Fabulous
Liked: The host was super nice. The room was big enough and had good views
Poor communication and worried about security
Liked: Bedroom was fine, everything you’d expect. Good bus route into town outside.
Disliked: Checking in was a nightmare. Very little communication, and when we did get a number to phone they didn’t speak any English so finding out room and entering the building was very difficult. Then when we were in the room someone was trying to unlock it and enter. Thankfully we were there to tell them to stop, but if we weren’t in the room I would worry they had access. We had checked in so not sure why they would try and access it, unless it was another guest. Also wouldn’t recommend if trying to get back late at night as no busses and it’s a 1 hour walk

Disliked: It’s not easy to park nearby. It’s a small room.

Liked: it was very clean and comfortable. Like being at home. Also, Pilar is a great host
Liked: The room was clean and well-equipped, located in a house with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The facilities were fine and overall everything in the place was good.
Disliked: I was not happy with the way the host treated us, which made me feel uncomfortable during the stay.
Superb
Liked: Even if the barrio might look a little... uncomfortable the first time one arrives there, it was a nice, safe and quiet place to stay. 👍🏼 The same applies by the way to Pilar, the person in charge. 🙂 Once a visitor realizes that the energetic temperament and the verbal presence of quite a few locals in the service sector generally in Bilbao is simply their way of being and talking, one can be confident that locals in general and Pilar in particular 😌 are persons you can talk with and happily willing to cooperate. 👍🏼
Disliked: As you have to reach the place by bus or train (meaning the regular city lines 🙂) additional costs may emerge.
