  Perfect

  Liked: Excellent location with lots of bars and restaurants in close proximity. Easy stroll around the Old Quarter, 20 min walk along the river to the Guggenheim or to the Funicular. Nice to be met by the host, Mercedes. She gave us a wealth of information and recommendations on foods to try, restaurants, bars, and particular aspects to look out for when sightseeing. We were just sorry not to have time to try them all! The apartment is as good as it appears in the photos. Spacious comfortable bedrooms, everything spotless. Nice additional touches like umbrellas to borrow!

  Disliked: We enjoyed the buzz of people in the Square and it was cleared and empty by 12mn but unfortunately the binmen were on the go throughout the night. Bottle disposal in particular is very noisy! But once done it's quiet.Something that applies to all accommodation in the area and totally beyond the control of the property.

  Excellent apartment in a fabulous location. Would highly recommend

  Liked: Great location- very close to some fabulous Pintxos bars. The apartment is stunning and has 3 good size bedrooms all with own bathroom and toilet. The living room has views over looking the square and large windows. Very well equipped apartment too. Really lovely host who is very responsive and provides some great recommendations for your time in Bilbao.

  Disliked: Glass is emptied (from the bars in the Square) around 8am which is a little noisy. But it’s just one of those things- if you want to be so central and have access to wonderful Pintxos bars and the sights then there has to be some compromise.

  Our host Mercedes gave us the warmest welcome. She spent time giving us recommendations on what to do in Bilbao and beyo

  Liked: The apartment itself is absolutely beautiful. The mix of the old wooden beams and old stone from the original building with the modern décor is an architect’s dream! Each bedroom (3 in total) has its own ensuite with plenty of room to hold your luggage. The kitchen/dining room is well-equipped with appliances and cutlery and the doors look out onto Plaza Nueva. The apartment also has a washing machine and dryer for those staying for longer periods of time.

  Disliked: Nothing! Just be prepared to hear the bins being emptied in the morning😅

Good to know

In Spain, if you own a place for tourists to stay, you have to keep a record of who stays there. It’s a rule that’s not widely known. This record needs to be shared with the authorities, like the Civil Guard, to ensure public safety.

The traveler registration form must be filled in at check-in with the details of guests aged 16 and over. The registration form must be sent to the authorities within 24 hours of the arrival or departure of the guests. And also, the travel registrations must be registered by the host in a travel register book, which can be in physical or digital format, with a minimum of 100 pages and a maximum of 500 pages.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.
