Fabulous
Brilliant little place in atmospheric old town
Liked: A great little pension right in the old town of Bilbao. It's on the first floor of the building, but there's a manned reception to check in up to 8pm (otherwise they send you a code for entry) My room was quite small, but super-comfortable, with top quality furniture and bathroom - worthy of a 4star+ hotel in terms of fit/finish. I had a very quiet room with no view. My colleague has a slightly noisier room with a lovely view down the old street. Six of one, half a dozen of the other!
Disliked: The only thing to remember here is that there's no vehicular access. Even if you get a taxi, they drop you off a couple of hundred metres from the door. No problem at all for me, but a faff if you've got heavy bags perhaps....
A terrific apartment in the best location of Bilbao
Liked: Everything about my experience at Pension Ama was absolutely terrific. Even before I arrived the communication from Alberto on how to check in was seamless. Then I arrived at the apartment and it was fantastic. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom and shower are modern and really great. The balcony was a nice bonus, as this location simply cannot be beat in Bilbao. It’s in the middle of everything, but still quiet. An absolute gem. And they also allowed me to store my luggage after check out for a few hours before I got my train. I cannot wait to return. Highly recommended!

Excellent quiet location for Casco Viejo
Liked: Stylishly furnished and very clean. Very quiet. Good sized room and very comfortable bed. Welcoming and helpful reception from Alberto. Luggage storage available after check-out was very useful.
Disliked: Room had air-con but was completely without any natural ventilation.
