  Clean and silent

  Very good apart from being unhelpful r.e. late check-in

  Liked: The hostel was as expected, good value for money, and clean. I would stay there again.

  Disliked: The staff were not at all interested in accommodating an unexpected later check in. Whilst I appreciate the advertised check-in is until 2300, after communicating a risk of check-in at 2330, they simply replied "Check-in until 2300. Feel free to cancel your booking." I had already paid at this point, which might explain why they were happy for me to just cancel. I'd have happily paid an additional fee for the extra 30 minutes required for me to get there as well.

  A place like home

  Liked: Really lovely building in a nice location. I didn’t see much of the owner apart from when i checked in but he was really friendly and replied to my messages to ask about booking a taxi in the local area. If i did need anything during my stay i would’ve been happy to talk to him. The room was basic but decent enough. It had all your basic amenities and if you’re out and about exploring during your trip all you really need is a bed and a bathroom anyway. I had a very pleasant stay here and would choose it again if i visited the Caldes de malavella are again.

  Disliked: The walls are very thin so could hear other guests activities during the night. I could not see an accessible plug socket anywhere, my only options to charge my phone were in the bathroom or up high where the tv was plugged into.

  Great base for exploring Caldes de Malavella

  Liked: The situation in the centre of the old town is excellent and it's easy to explore the town and visit the spas. Also possible to get to nice hiking trails easily. The garden was a pleasant place to sit

  Disliked: The WiFi signal in my room was non existent.
