  Fun place to have a day or two by the beach or explore Cantabria

  Liked: This is a cheerful little hotel very close to a delightful family beach with two restaurants on it. Spotlessly clean with all the facilities you need but no frills. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Staff were lovely, especially Abraham who was very helpful. There is a beach shop and a little museum built into the hotel.

  Disliked: Breakfast was a bit short of healthy choices with lots of charcuterie and a vast display of sweet pastries. I could not resist the custard filled croissant completely enrobed in chocolate!

  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the el refugio. I was not looking for luxury as this is not my wish

  Liked: The location was excellent. with the sea close by and audible. The people were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good. It was the top end of a 2* hotel.

  Holidays down the toilet for this "Hotel" and its dtaff

  Liked: Nothing at all

  Disliked: The hotel is horrible and the staff with Abraham at helm is the worst I have ever seen in my entire live. He is impolite and ungrateful. The only thing he cares about is to charge for whatever reason he finds. Dont expect him to be helpful. Bedrooms are poorly equipped ( you wont find an Ac, a fridge..) there are dogs nonstop barking just across from the windows and pls be careful because they will try to host you close to the back door where it is the smoking exit with people lottering all day long there.
