  Ilonka is a very friendly and helpful host in a lovely rural location for exploring Andalucia

  Liked: Location is rural with the main town of Alora about 20 minutes drive. Very peaceful. Lovely garden areas. Lots of wild birds, neighbouring ducks, peacocks, chickens and dogs. Ilonka's own dog Monica is a little darling. We paid for our first morning breakfast on site, continental style, as we had booked the appartment where breakfast was not included. Breakfast portions were good for two people. The apartment was tastefully renovated from a stable block and was very clean and fresh inside. There was an oven, induction hob, sink/drainer, kettle, coffee pod machine and all necessary utensils, crockery and cutlery. Also free wifi and a smart tv with netflix access. The bathroom included hand and bath towels, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash and toilet paper. The bedroom included a large double bed, wardrobe, side tables, two armchairs and a floor standing electric fan. There was a basket with free paperbook books to enjoy in various languages. llonka was very helpful in getting us settled in and letting us know about local supermarkets and transport options. She also explained that regrettably, and due to the exceptional heat of the summer, she had had to introduce a pay-as-you-stay fee for electricity in the appartment due solely to some guests not being very conscious about leaving the aircon on in the appartment at the same time as leaving the blinds up and the windows open, when they were out all day. We understood why she had to do this. As we visited in the beginning of October we did not need aircon and whilst we were there for 10 days, we hardly saw the electric meter move. The other building on site was split into two ensuite rooms. The accommodations were fully booked before, during and after our stay. There is a pool on site with free loungers. Also an outdoor 'fridge where you can purchase beers and cold drinks which you record in the book on site. Due to the location and layout of the property it is suited for adults only with no mobility...

  Disliked: Being a rural property we did experience mozzies at night and early hours of the morning. My partner was fine but they did seem to love me so although we tried all sorts of remedies, the mozzies found me most nights. Can I respectfully ask if it would be possible to provide mosquito nets over the bed? Or perhaps mozzie screens over the windows and door areas for use at night? This was the only issue that affected us during our stay.

  Heaven in the hills

  Liked: The property and grounds are immaculate a true oasis. The pool is stunning. The host went above and beyond for us. The breakfast was way above our expectations.

  Tasteful, spotless apartment in serene setting, great host

  Liked: Delightful garden setting meticulously maintained. Tasteful apartment designed with guests’ needs in mind Extremely helpful host who found an emergency dentist for me during Semana Santa Peaceful scenic environment - good for the soul Good walking from the property, using All Trails and imagination. Immaculately clean.

  Liked: As stated in the description of the property, location is in a rural area. We travelled by car, so didn't mind a little bit of driving. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere, we had the entire apartment, which is is nicely equipped for your needs. Our stay was in a hot time of the year, even though we were out for most of the day, we had the have the A/C running before bed time. Electricity consumption is monitored ( not big deal, of only.50 euro cents per KW) and apartment is poorly insulated, so air conditioning efficiency is is low. At night time we couldn't have it running, since cold air was blowing above the bed. Overall our stay was pleasant, no major complaints, we enjoyed our vacation. Recommend it.

  Finca El Limonar

  Liked: The place is idyllic, relaxing, stunning. I don't have the words to describe the beauty of this place. Alora is a 10 minute drive away, the pool is brilliant. Nestled into the lemon Grove you feel a million miles away from the hustle of city life with all its distractions allowing you to unwind and rest for a while.
