  Too busy for a relaxing holiday - but the staff did their best

  Disliked: Unfortunately, our stay at SOL by Meliá was very disappointing. The food was one of the biggest problems - the quality was poor, and overall it was tasteless and cooked awfully. Anti hygenic as well. Far below what is expected from a Meliá hotel. The hotel was extremely overcrowded and noisy. There were too many guests, with constant noise and a very busy atmosphere, making it difficult to relax and enjoy a holiday. The overall atmosphere was also not pleasant. Some of the guests behaved in a way that made the hotel feel uncomfortable and chaotic rather than relaxing. Unfortunately, the combination of poor food, overcrowding, excessive noise, and an unpleasant atmosphere made our stay disappointing. We would not choose this hotel again. This is not the place for a relaxing holiday in Canarias.

  Liked: The beach is nice and a short walk across the main road. You don't hear the road. At least we didn't from our room. The Xtra had a great view. Check out at noon is convenient. Some folks who work there are trying but you realize from them the establishment has its limits.

  Disliked: I couldn't help but wonder why other people seemed to be enjoying themselves so much. I mean other people were clearly not comfortable in the chaos but I guess for others free beer and wine makes them happy. To me the all inclusive was like eating at an army chow hall. The rooms like barracks. I also didn't like how the idea of paying for "Xtra" in room means when you arrive you get two beers in the fridge and then they don't restock it at all unless you ask and pay a few. The music is loud every night until 11:30 if you have young ones. Also, the walls are like paper so you hear everything from neighbors.
