Great location and food - sadly there are staff issues and an odd atmosphere

Liked: The location is why we came for a second stay this time staying 3 nights - and it did not disappoint - just steps away from the incredible beach, we enjoyed our morning walks along the golden sands before it got crowded for the day. The evening meals are delicious as are the breakfasts. We enjoyed the pre dinner drinks - the cocktails are well made and presented beautifully. I used the area around the hot tub to sunbathe the beds were really comfortable, I didn’t swim in the pool as we had the sea so near. The rooms are spacious we were in a premium room with all the usual comforts, the TV is not smart one so no chance of watching Netflix etc there is only BBC for English speakers. The toiletries were lovely and we both felt our room was clean on arrival and after the maids had been in each day. The balcony had a glorious view of the sea and beach.

Disliked: We probably won’t return as we have now come up against this issue on both stays - most of the staff don’t seem very happy a smile would kill most of them, the two ladies at dinner were the exception they are both delightful. I’ll give you a few examples- 1.My husband tried to interact with the Barman asking what you called draught beer in Spanish etc no real answer just kinda ignored him- after dinner the same evening we went out for an evening stroll and returned for a nightcap - my husband went to the bar giving our order only to be told to sit down and you will be served - ok we then watched as he completely ignored us served another family seated before us and then served a family that arrived after us. We went upstairs as we were upset at this - we don’t know what the matter is but maybe it’s because we are from Britain? We stayed away from the hotel restaurant and bar on the last night as I didn’t want anymore stress. 2. We were asked by the hotel when we would arrive - I explained we would be arriving in our car at lunchtime and we would eat lunch at the hotel - they said perfect but your room might not be ready until 3pm Ok all arranged or so we thought! Arrived at the hotel, we received a fairly frosty reception the minute we asked to have a bollard key like last time “ there are no spaces for you you’ll need to park in town “ Where in town we asked “ in the town “ He started speaking under his breath and he was not professional even saying he had to do this too! We drove around the packed out town for an hour! Finally got back at 1.50 pm hot and upset as we would never have booked if we had been told parking is an issue. Not at all how we envisioned our arrival! This could all have been avoided if when they were messaging me they told us the issue with parking. I avoided this person for the rest of my stay He would be better working in an office!

Liked: We have just returned from our first stay at XQ El Palacete, and what a wonderful experience it was. The hotel’s location is exceptional, overlooking the beach with stunning views of the ocean, but what truly sets this place apart is the people. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their warmth and dedication create such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, and they are undoubtedly the reason so many guests return year after year. The rooms were immaculate throughout our stay. They were cleaned daily to an exceptionally high standard, with fresh towels provided each day and the added touch of a nightly turndown service. Having a spacious balcony with uninterrupted sea views was a real luxury and meant we could enjoy the beautiful surroundings at any time of day. Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean each morning was simply wonderful. The food was one of the highlights of our stay. The quality, variety, and presentation were outstanding, with every meal offering something delicious to enjoy. Breakfast provided a fantastic start to each day, while dinner was always something to look forward to, with an excellent selection of fresh and beautifully prepared dishes. We also loved spending time at the pool snack bar. Whether enjoying lunch, a coffee, or a cold drink in the sunshine, it was the perfect place to relax and take in the surroundings. The service there was every bit as excellent as throughout the rest of the hotel. Our favourite time of day was gathering for pre-dinner drinks overlooking the beach. Watching the sky gradually change colour as the sun set each evening was simply spectacular. The ever-changing shades of gold, orange, pink, and purple reflected across the sea created a breathtaking backdrop and became a cherished part of our daily routine.

A lovely boutique hotel with fantastic views and lovely staff

Liked: This is a four star hotel but the service and staff are five star. The hotel is situated in the heart of Morro Jable and a short walk into the small town with some cafes and bars, it overlooks the beach and sea and the views are outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. This started when we arrived late, Fuerteventura Airport requires new arrivals to register biometrics on their new system so it took an hour to get processed and we were delayed. However, the staff realised this and saved us supper, they set a table especially for us, it was much appreciated as we were tired and hungry by the time we got there. We were half board and the food was exceptional for buffet style, one of my bug bears at buffet meals is that the food can be luke warm but not here, the soups were great and there was a grill for fish and meat to be made on demand with a hot and cold array of vegetables and sides. It is not a large hotel so you the restaurant itself does not feel like a canteen like many large hotels, it manages to maintain some quiet ambience by having two sittings so it doesn't feel crowded. This also means that you do get to know the staff and fellow guests better. There was never a problem getting a sunbed, there is a policy of no saving beds which was fair for everyone. I would highly recommend a stay here and would love to go back sometime.

Disliked: The weather! it was changeable but we did have some long periods of sun and it didn't keep us from going in the sea:-)

Very poor value per money - Not a four star hotel

Liked: Very good location. Good dinners. Available parking (3€/night). Available sunbeds around the pool area. Very nice and friendly stuff.

Disliked: - No free drinkable water during the day or even dinner! On the island where you don't have a drinking water is awful to charge extra money. During the breakfast it's included but during dinner you need to pay 2€/bottle (same during the day). I understand it's not all inclusive but this is just water not alcohol and it should be included when you charge more than 400€ per night!!!! It's ridiculous because this is almost the price for overwater villa at Maldives with All in. - Old room, it needs to be renovated (only bathroom is new). You can hear everything from the neighbors so if you decide to go there (even after reading this review) do not forget to bring earplugs. Bad is sooooo uncomfortable, for the price horrible!!! It's moving all the time, very firm mattress. - Program starting after 21:30 and terrible loud music till the night - stuff speak rather German than English (which is understandable as the hotel was full of Germans) -same breakfast everyday day which is not good if you are staying longer -don't understand who can visit this hotel more than once and why would they do that?!
