  Room and location were great but would not recommend it as a friendly place for non-Spanish speakers

  Liked: Even though we did not speak Spanish the cleaning staff were very kind as we arrived while they were still doing the room. While we were waiting down stairs having a drink while the room was completed they moved all of our gear into the room for us.

  Disliked: We were not made to feel welcome by Reception, bar and restaurant staff. Unfortunately we do not speak Spanish and we were very apologetic to all staff about this and was very happy for everyone to do their best with smiles and sign language, however we were ignored many times, left standing, staff particularly in the restaurant and bar were very impatient with us and made it very clear they did not have time for non-Spanish speaking people. We were made to feel very uncomfortable when trying to find out information or order food and drinks. We were so disappointed we chose to eat and drink elsewhere.

  Lovely,well organised, hotel with great food choices

  Liked: A beautiful and popular hotel with a location set back from the seafront but in a good location to get to the ferry port. The staff were very efficient and helpful. We have stayed several times and always enjoy the ambience, food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a space for bikes too.

  Great location, and amazing breakfast

  Liked: The reception was very friendly, breakfast was fantastic and it was a great location. We were only there for one night, and we enjoyed our stay.

  Disliked: We booked a room with a terrace, however, the rollup metal cover over the doors was broken so it was very hard to get on to the terrace and we also couldn't lower it for the blackout effect for sleeping.

  Liked: Awesome accommodation with free parking, close to train into Bilboa city. Very nice area to discover close to the water and a beach. Love this hotel with fabulous dining and bar at the doorstep.

Please note that Hotel Artaza's restaurant is closed on Sunday nights. The restaurant is closed also on 24,25 and 31 December and 1 January.
