    Exceeded my expectations

Liked: Hostels have changed a lot in the past few decades. It used to be that people congregated and socialized, yet these days everyone seems to prefer their phones to overcoming the fear of meeting me people. Black Swan is old school. They've got loads of helpful volunteers that encourage interaction by providing family dinners, nightly events and a WhatsApp chat group for coordinating activities. Doug is especially delightful with 24 hour smiles and great culinary skills. Enda is very friendly and helpful at the front desk too.

Disliked: The kitchen/dining area can get crowded during peak meal times. My dorm room was tight too, but we managed. I can't tell you how many times I hit my head on the curtain rod, bed above, and shelf though. Ouch.

Liked: The reception staff are absolutely wonderful! They are all so kind, friendly, and welcoming, always greeting you with a big smile and making you feel at home. They happily explain all the activities available and even offer a complimentary food menu for a group of up to 30 people. They speak both English and French, which makes everything so easy and comfortable. I have rarely met people who smile so genuinely and make you feel so welcome. Their kindness and positive energy truly make a difference. Thank you for your amazing hospitality! You are a fantastic team! ❤️ 🇩🇿

Disliked: Everything was wonderful overall! The only things I missed were a designated smoking area, as you have to stand outside on the street to smoke, and towel hooks in the bathroom to hang your towels after showering 🤷

Liked: The social vibe is really great. The staff are all awesome. If you're lucky Doug will be cooking the free family meal - delicious! I've been here a few times and I'll keep coming back.
