  Very strange location with lack of facilities in the room

  Liked: Google maps and Waze take you to a dodgy looking industrial estate, we had to call the reception a few times to try and find it, it turns out you have to drive about 1,000m further down the road to find the hotel. I was a little confused with the room. I am struggling to understand what is 4 star about the room. It was very basic, very strange rusty type metal panelling on the walls, it needs redecoration, bathroom and toilet needs work. There were no room facilities, no tea/coffee, kettle, empty fridge, no bathroom provisions, just some towels. Restaurant was more like a canteen to be honest. The breakfast was OK.

  Would stay if I had to but wouldn’t rebook

  Liked: Friendly reception, numerous people were very helpful.

  Disliked: Was missing things you would expect at a 4 star hotel. We booked a triple but only had towels and blankets for 2 people. No tea or coffee in the room and the fridge does not cool, it is supposedly designed to ‘maintain’ food at an already cool temperature. There were no wifi details in the room, and although there was a phone, there was no information about numbers to call so I needed to walk back to reception for housekeeping. The shower head obviously needed repair, it was loose and dropped to waist height and had a separate spurt of water coming out of the top that ended up wetting the floor and the toilet. Was surprised to see trolleys of dirty plates rolling through the breakfast room and tables not reset so missing coffee cups and spoons for breakfast.

  Terrible

  Disliked: Absolutely disgusting. The room reeked of cigarette smoke to the point that it made us feel nauseous. We asked for another room, but they said that wasn’t possible. They told us they would fix the problem, but all they did was spray some deodorant in the room and then claimed it was fixed. Furthermore, the hotel is also housing asylum seekers, which was not mentioned anywhere beforehand. There were groups of people hanging around outside the entrance. We decided to leave. We requested a refund through Booking.com, but unfortunately nothing came of it. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and choose a different hotel.
