Liked: Though in a suburban street lined with leafy trees Laredo is sufficiently small that the centre of the old town was only a ten minute walk away. The hotel doesn't have parking facilities but they would be unnecessary anyway for there was ample quiet street parking. Reception was efficient and we were taken to our pleasant first floor room looking out over the street where the car was parked. Furnishing in the hotel was refreshingly idiosyncratic with the dual themes being nautical and book-oriented with precarious-looking piles of books in the public rooms. It was a short walk to the hotel-recommended "El Pescador" restaurant and the centre of the old town only a handful of minutes beyond that along the beach. Breakfast was fairly basic and, with no dining room, served on low tables and chairs in the bar/café area and lounge. A good value stop.
