Exceptional
Just perfection
Liked: Beautiful oasi of peace. Amazing staff, confortable and charming rooms, very reccomended.
Give them a year or two to get their house in order before you book
Liked: In a beautiful setting you will find this hotel. It is a 5 star hotel and in the Guide Michelin. If you only look at the building, the interior and the facilities- this could be true. However, we had the feeling that the hotel had just opened and not taken the time to trim in the staff. Everybody were very friendly but at the same time new at their job. The devil is in the details and compared to other five star hotels in the same price range - they did not live up to the rating they aim at. This is pity as the pre-requisites are all there.
Disliked: Booked this place expecting a real five-star experience, but honestly it fell pretty short. Let's start with check-in. They put us in what was probably the worst room in the whole hotel, with this tiny little window, while every other room has floor-to-ceiling windows. They only moved us after we agreed to pay extra. Not a great first impression. Housekeeping was the weakest I've seen. Basically all they did was make the bed and swap out a towel. Everything else stayed exactly where it was. Dishes weren't washed, and they never refilled the shower gel or shampoo. Total half-effort. Breakfast was a real letdown, three-star at best. The portions were so small and sad that honestly I'd be embarrassed to serve that to anyone. No veggies at all, not a single cucumber, tomato, or salad. A bit of cold cuts, a bit of cheese, and that's it. The best thing on the table was the store-bought yogurt. The omelet was just one egg, took forever to come out, and didn't even taste good. We didn't bother with dinner because we figured if breakfast was this bad, dinner probably wouldn't be much better. That said, there are some real positives. The grounds are beautiful and super well kept, the building itself is gorgeous, everything's really photogenic. No complaints there at all. Bottom line: this place calls itself five stars, but I'm not sure what scale they're using. I'd give it four max, or honestly more like three and a half. For comparison, Forestis in Italy is what real five stars looks like. If Forestis is a solid ten out of ten, this is maybe a five, and I'm not even trying to be harsh.
Great property
Liked: Nice spa facilities and comfortable bed to relax.
We really enjoyed our stay
Liked: Beautiful 5 star property and worth the expense
Disliked: Having to pay for things like porridge at breakfast, which feels like money grabbing and is unworthy of a hotel at this level. More tea bags in the room, bigger mugs and fresh milk. A welcome drink and snack on arrival would enhance the experience
