    Location close to the museums and Plaza Mayor

    Boutique hotel both underwhelming and probably overpriced, but in a great location

    Liked: This hotel gets 10 out of 10 for its location - a short walk from Madrid's three major museums and on the fringe of a labyrinth of narrow streets full of bars, restaurants and shops. Oh, and I liked the different coloured doors to the hotel bedrooms.

    Disliked: Eye-catching artwork and a wide screen mirror-style TV couldn't compensate for the puny dimensions of our room, in which there was hardly space to swing a rat. It was barely adequate for a single occupant. Fortunately my wife and I are slim, since the bed was distinctly narrow. There was virtually no storage space and the only window looked out on to... nothing, really - just a tiny barren courtyard. Was this good value at 200 euros a night? I think you could probably do a lot better in a similar location.

    Liked: Great location adjacent to numerous bars, cafes and essential places of interest such as Prado, Reina Sofia, Banksy Museum, Retiro Park etc. Comfortable rooms with great shower.

    Disliked: Limited facilities with no TV or tea making facilities in the room and due to location, street noise was loud until 1 or 2 in the morning given we were there for the weekend and Spains National day on the Monday

    Disliked: Dont have coffee machine in the room, just 2 capsules of coffee in each room per day
