  Liked: A Very Disappointing Experience My three-night stay was a very disappointing experience. The air conditioning in the room was not working throughout my entire stay. I reported the problem to the hotel, but no one came to fix it during the three days, and no suitable alternative solution was provided. I then requested compensation because of this issue, but I never received any response to my compensation request. I find this particularly disappointing and an unacceptable way to deal with a customer who has reported a problem. The room also lacked some facilities that I would expect, including a refrigerator, and the furniture and overall facilities were quite limited. I understand that technical problems can happen, but the real problem for me was the lack of action to resolve the issue and the failure to respond to my compensation request. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had, and I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable stay and responsive customer service.

  Poor and unprofessional organization to not have sent the requirements earlier

  Liked: It was cheap

  Disliked: That I booked it more than a month ago, and when did they decide I needed to fill out a bunch of documents so I could stay? Right when I got dropped off by the taxi at the front door of the stay! Saddled with 3 suitcases, and my wife, we stood outside filling out the online forms.

  DO NOT STAY HERE! BAD MANAGEMENT

  Liked: Don't book this hostel. Some good things are that the private bathroom was clean, and the location was good. However, the room was hot even though it listed there was AC. There was no air coming from the vent.

  Disliked: Bad management often unresponsive to messages. Entrance to the hostel had a broken lock, so the door was open to anyone already in the building. On the first night, I was told there was an incident and so I was rebooked at a different hostel (Costanilla de Angeles), which was a nice hostel. The second day, I was told to return to Pension Estrella where I originally booked. However, I was provided wrong entry codes. I called several times and got no answer. The janitor called several times and got no answer. After two hours of waiting, I eventually received a working code. Once in the building, the entrance to the hostel was wide open due to a broken lock. I contacted the host, but was told door codes had been fixed and there was no issue. The code to this door was useless because the lock was broken and the door could be opened by anyone. Another guest arrived next door who realized he'd been assigned the wrong room without the private bathroom he paid for. He tried to contact the host to no avail. He was on the phone with Booking.com to cancel his reservation when I left the property to stay at a different hostel (Hostal Ballesta). Hostal Ballesta was like a hotel experience despite being cheaper than Pension Estrella. Stay there instead. It's close to Gran Via, which is a popular shopping avenue.
