  Not my favourite hotel in Madrid

  Liked: Bed was great for sleeping

  Disliked: A bit too close to the noise of Gran Via. I didn't like the smells at reception, where there is a sort of cafe area.

  City centre hotel offering basics and location

  Liked: Good location for Metro and Renfe C train stations and the key sites Prado and Thyssen.

  Disliked: Petit Palace hotel group should review their buffet breakfast offering to include better variety in both cold and cooked options plus dairy free e.g. margarina, fried eggs. Useful to train breakfast staff in managing 2-3 common languages (besides local Spanish) given the international guests. Noisy location - road traffic, blue light vehicles and throngs of people - as the hotel is right next to busy Gran Via and a casino opposite.

  Extreamly noisy- Don't underestimate this

  Disliked: Extremely noisy. We could not sleep more than an hour at a time. No sound insulation to windows. As if sleeping on a highway with all the noise associated with such a central location. Terrible experiance. In my view, price was high compared to the offering, even regardless of all the noise.
