  Good in parts, poor in others

  Liked: Excellent location, comfortable bed and pillows, great staff

  Disliked: Very tired property, bathroom had dust in the corners and marks on the walls in the shower and bathroom, the corridor had chipped skirting boards and evidence of a repair on the ceiling that had been executed poorly.

  The oldest hotel with a secret in a bustling part of town

  Liked: The hotel's location is great—the metro is literally just around the corner. Madrid's main attractions are within walking distance, and there are shopping and dining options nearby. We really liked the story behind the hotel, which we had the chance to learn about right after we arrived.

  Disliked: The hotel is in a busy part of town, and the noise doesn't let up even at night. We stayed on a floor with a slanted wall; it was impossible to walk around the bed while standing upright. The hotel room was very sparsely furnished.
