  Disliked: Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cockroach that ran into the basement - we assume that this is not an isolated incident. The walls and curtains were moldy, and the humidity in the apartment was so high that our clothes, towels and bed linen remained wet even after 4 days. This significantly reduced our comfort, although such a problem could be remedied relatively easily, for example with a dehumidifier. In addition, there was a particularly unpleasant situation: the contact person wrote to us around 7:00 PM on Monday evening, when we were already at the Rosalia concert (which is why we had planned the trip anyway), asking us to immediately transfer 14 euros. We indicated that we were at the concert and asked if it could be arranged the next day, but she did not accept this. This greatly spoiled the evenings, as we had to try to arrange the transfer by phone, in a hurry. The evening dragged on, so we got home late, and then at 9 am the next morning she woke us up with a knock on the window to ask us to pay the amount again. We originally wanted to be able to settle this the next morning, in cash, as we had previously indicated. After all, she eventually gave the money back, so we don’t understand why there was so much pressure over just 14 euros for nearly 24 hours. The situation felt unnecessary and caused avoidable stress during our stay. The description of the accommodation was misleading: it is not a separate apartment, but a separate living area from a house. Overall, we feel that the value for money was not good and the issues we experienced made our stay significantly more unpleasant than expected.

  Cosy, worthy apartment in a nice cute city

  Liked: It was clean some amnesties were good! The owner is really helpful and give good recommandations

  Disliked: The owner is renovating another flat close by and it can be really noisy at some point. But the owner managed to stop it when I needed calm for calls

  I am appalled at the host and booking.com for cheating me out of €200

  Liked: The hotel itself was good. It was clean, and met expectations with a short walk to the train station to get into Barcelona city centre. However, the problem did not lie with the quality of the hotel, but with the actions taken by the host.

  Disliked: I was told the day before arriving at the property that there would be a €200 deposit and €45 cleaning fee, to be sent by bank transaction. After phoning booking.com to check if this was legit, I was assured by booking.com that it was and that if there was any problem with the deposit that it would be sorted immediately. This was a lie. After returning from the holiday, I did not receive the deposit. After contacting the host, he claimed that he did not receive the deposit. After trying to resolve the problem we discovered that the deposit had been sent to the host, but due to international transfer, there was a large sum (~€50) taken as a fee by a third party bank, and an additional €20 taken by the hosts bank for receiving the fund. The host then proceeded to claim that it was in fact MY BANK which had charged the fee, despite the fact that there are statements from both mine and his bank showing that this was not the case. After trying to explain this to the host MULTIPLE times, he was reluctant to acknowledge this, and in turn suggested he send back the reduced amount (€120, before fees). With this conversation going nowhere, I then contacted booking.com and explained the situation. They then promised to reimburse the €200 deposit on their behalf. This also was a lie. I then waited two weeks before contacting booking.com again, to which they again promised to reimburse me. Again nothing happened. I repeated this twice more and still there has been no progress. I am appalled at the host for the hidden cleaning fee, for blaming me for international banking fees, for refusing to return my €200 deposit in full. I am also appalled at booking.com for leaving me in the dark and promising to reimburse me without taking any action. I would under no circumstance book with this host or booking.com.

  Ideal place to stay when you are road tripping with everything you need and enough space

  Liked: This property had everything - oven, washing machine, outdoor area and we felt like we had enough privacy and our own space even though the owners were right upstairs. The apartment has been designed perfectly in this way.

  Disliked: It was a little far from Barcelona city but that was okay as we had a car to drive in.

  Very nice summer house close to beach, away from Barcelona crowd

  Liked: Very nice summer house, clean, had lots of kitchen and bathroom appliances, close to beach. There is very well working air conditioner, smart tv and even dish washer.

  Disliked: If you want to get to Barcelona center, it is a bit far but if that's not the case, this place is great as it is close to beach where it is so calm (unlike Barcelona beach)
