Fabulous
Lovely, quiet apartment with swimming pool in an excellent loocation!
Liked: First of all, the location. 5 minute stroll to the lovely beach, although coming back was all uphill and we struggled a bit, being of more advancing years. The apartment was adequate and had all the facilities you needed (apart from an iron and ironing board). It's a weird configuration - you unlock your door and go straight onto the balcony and from there you go through the unlockable doors into the apartment. Initially, we were concerned about security, but it was fine. Being late in the season, the apartment was a bit tired and needed a bit of TLC, which, I'm sure will be addressed in the off season. The balcony overlooked the pool, with a table and two chairs, which weren't very comfortable. Because of the angle of the sun in september, the balcony get very little shade in the middle of the day and can get very warm. With 2 supermarkets within a 2 minute walk, both with a bakery, we'd often have a baguette for lunch, but eating on the balcony wasn't pleasant with the heat. The pool and surrounds were great. The water in the pool was a pleasant temperature(unlike a previous reviewer saying the water was cold...perhaps they went earlier in the year?) The covered terrace was nice to enjoy a drink from the bar and take a break from the sunbeds. The seats here were very comfortable. The staff were great and friendly. The bar did close quite early, so having a nightcap there wasn't an option. Perhaps they stay open later in high season. I can understand why they close...no customers! Insects...no issues with the dreaded cockroach. Flies could be a nuisance but not much one can do about them. A hornet paid us a visit but he soon scarpered. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and will definately be going again.
Disliked: An iron and ironing board would have been good. Some beading on the bathroom door had come adrift. There was a bit of mould above the showerhead, on the ceiling. The shower, in the bath, was nice and powerful but the shower head was leaking and the glass partition did leak. I'm sure these issues will be dealt with in the off season. The aircon was good but only worked if the doors were closed. We didn't use it too much. Fan in the main living/dining/kitchen area and another inn the bedroom were used more and were effective. With regard to very little shade on the balcony during the middle of the day, prehaps an awning might be considered? I understand the expense it could incur could be an issue but there are ways round that by applying a charge for using the awning. I have tried to be as helpful with my review for future clients with things that affected us. Obviously, other clients may have had different issues. Again I would highly recommend this establishment!
The property, location and facilities were of a very high standard
Liked: We catered for ourselves.
Disliked: Not applicable
Liked: Clean and confortabile in a good position of Menorca to reach other beaches and closed to Ciuttadella
Disliked: Cala Blanca beach is very small and crowded in August it is not a good solution to spend a day in relax during this period
There are better options with this price
Liked: KITCHEN: the mini fridge and cook is really nice if you’re planning on saving some money with homemade meals. Just BE AWARE that there is no salt, oil, sugar, coffee, nothing! LOCATION: 5min walking from the beach.
Disliked: NOISE: besides the apartment there is a big hotel with live entertainment EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! I’m talking about bingos, karaoke, live music etc. I’m very noisy-sensitive and even with all the doors/windows closed you could still hear everything. So if you’re looking for a quiet night to sleep, this is not your place. CLEANLINESS: not so clean, to be honest. There are stains everywhere and the bathroom floors gets wet even when we’re not showering. Maybe because of a leak? I don’t know. THE WORST: we were parking our scooter in front of the hotel everyday (private space from the hotel, not the street!) and the receptionist saw us doing that everyday. The day we were about to leave, she said the police came in last night and gave us a fine ticket, because we couldn’t park there (?????) why didn’t she say anything before? A heads up before hand, or during the check in would be nice, at the very minimum.
nice but painful
Liked: great location and friendly staff
Disliked: The bed was a nightmare. My back still hurts
Liked: The apartments were so lovely, in a prime location and had very comfortable beds. the bus stop was just outside, and it was close enough to walk to beaches and restaurants. We met Sofia at the front desk on day one and she helped us settle in. She was incredible and helped us with anything we could possibly need during our stay.
