Very good
Really liked the location and the hotel, food was expensive for what we got, staff generally not very helpful

Liked: Simply a magnificent hotel with incredible staff. Pure paradise. The view from the room is breathtaking, and the surrounding nature is stunning- it truly takes your breath away. The pool was fantastic, and our stay with a toddler was perfect. Breakfast and dinner were included in our rate; the food was great, and dinner at the restaurant was beyond praise. The kids' menu was also excellent. If you are young parents and lacking sleep, you will definitely catch up on your rest here on the soft pillows to the soothing sound of the ocean. The room was cleaned daily—top-tier cleanliness. We will definitely be back!

Lovely hotel with great staff and a suberb location that could do with a bit of investment
Liked: Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms with modern clean bathrooms. Excellent location with lots to do. Beautiful setting and views. Excellent fast and stable WiFi.
Disliked: The rooms are quite dated and need a refresh. The air-conditioning needs an upgrade. Soundproofing could be better. Breakfast is okay but could do with a few more options. The carpark and entrance gate could do with a resurface and widening respectively.
Wonderful location but not deserving of 4 stars
Liked: The location was excellent - wonderful view, acess to a private beach, lovely pool, bar and terrace, great breakfast. The women at reception were very kind.
Disliked: The rooms were very basic - no tissues, no tea and coffee making facilities, no artwork. The shower head broke mid-shower and the technician wasn’t available to fix it for 2 days. Our bathroom fan didn’t work at all and the air conditioning was awful - completely useless in both rooms our family used. We had to keep our mini travel fans going all night. There was no welcome pack or information about the hotel, which made it hard to know what was on offer, how to access facilities etc. We were confused by the lunch (1-3pm) offering - some people seemed to be eating sandwiches and small dishes, but when we went to the cafeteria, the waiter said food wasn’t available until 8pm. Just a general lack of information, particularly for non-Spanish speakers. The terrace and pool area was not serviced by a member of staff for food or drinks. I had to make 3 trips from the bar to the terrace with drinks for my family.
There are high society weddings most weekends & it’s like being on the set of Dynasty
Liked: Unsurpassable location & views on its own promontory Private safe car park. We sometimes go there in our camper van & theres lots of room for it. 40 minutes drive to Ferries to UK at both Santander & Bilbao I’ve seen critical reviews they are ridiculous. Stayed there multiple times times since 1998
Disliked: Cannot put a finger on anything. One review criticised “worn carpets on the stairs”. We have witnessed the original ones & replacements 15 years later. Carpets now removed to reveal original marble material. The hotel is part of a small chain in Spain. The staff remember us from previous visits. Hotel is genuine 4 star. I have stayed at many 4 & even 5 star hotels all over UK & Europe none can compare with Olimpo’s unique qualities.
