Good
This was a very pleasant place to stay but quite a bit of it did not live up to expectations unfortunately
Liked: The hotels are in a stunning location and the Gran Hotel where we stayed is very good overall. The history of the resort is well worth reading up on and makes for interesting reading. The spa areas overall are very nice with some reservations.
Disliked: There is a complete lack of sign posting to direct you to the general car park once you arrive at the lake side area. There are barriers but no signs at all to indicate to go through them (taking a ticket) to get to the hotel car park. Once you find your way through there is one large sign beside the two Continental hotels but still no sign at all for the Gran Hotel. After much searching we had to ask for directions to find the entrance to the Gran Hotel. In the Termas De Tiberio we were bemused & disappointed to see that despite advertising the benefits of the Thermal water for physical ailments (arthritis etc) there are no safety rails anywhere around the various pools. There is one rail only on a flight of steps. Also the outdoor pool is in need of repair with several areas in and outside the pool where the tiles are missing or broken. Furthermore there were no changing facilities to support anyone with mobility issues. Given the high prices being charged this is very disappointing and made it difficult to enjoy safely in places. Also it’s worth mentioning this resort is still undergoing renovations of the old (& historic!) buildings so you might find some noise / disruptions to areas due to this. Lastly be aware that if you go in September the restaurants are winding down and they are not all open all week as per the hotel website.
