Wonderful, rural cottage in the heart of the Picos de Europa

Liked: The house has rustic charm while also being modern and well-appointed. The hosts are very considerate. The location was peaceful with lovely views. I would happily stay here again.
It was a great stay for exploring this area for the first time
Liked: We really appreciated the newly renovated, charming old stone mountain home with a wood stove, modern kitchen and bathroom, great windows and outdoor furniture on a lawn, in a very small village with great bird life, nice walking road, and easy access to a nice town with restaurants. Beaches and mountain hikes were not too far away. Alma was great about meeting us and providing plenty of firewood.
Disliked: While we liked the woodstove, the lack of central heating was a little problematic in May. The woodstove can be used to heat the whole house, but it took us a couple of days to figure it all out (a little more instruction on this would have been good). Also, some fire tongs were needed because a log fell out of the grate once. It was a nice mountain setting but the views were slightly compromised by electric wires and spole lights.
