Exceptional
Incredible location, couple of improvement points
Liked: - the location is absolutely incredible. A 7 minute drive from all the facilities of Cangas de Onis but it's in a very rural location. Several hiking trails start right by the house. The views are spectacular. - the house is new and very well insulated, with under floor heating so it is very comfortable - the hosts were easy to reach via whatsapp (but not via the Booking messages) - easy check in and check out (lock box) - despite the points below, we had a lovely stay overall
Disliked: - the cleanliness could be better. There were some spots in the bathroom that were not clean. Also one of the duvets was full of stains. When we pointed it out and asked for it to be replaced they didn't apologise but they did provide a replacement blanket that we had to pick up from Cangas ourselves (apparently the hosts were not around so it couldn't be brought to us, it was left in a bin bag outside a hotel in town. That blanket was also not completely clean to be honest). -the house could do with a couple more facilities e.g. chopping board in the kitchen, a washing machine etc)
Peaceful Mountainside Retreat
Liked: The apartment was beautiful, very modern and easily accommodated four adults for three nights. We had a spacious deck to enjoy the magnificent view over the valley. Appliances were top notch and Veronica gave us a couple of recommendations for supper in the village.
Disliked: Communication was time consuming via booking.com and whatsapp. In some cases our questions went unanswered. You definitely need a vehicle to stay at this property as it is quite a ways out of town and almost straight uphill from Cangis de Onis.
Comfortable place
Liked: Brand new furniture, well cleaned and a very peaceful location.
Disliked: The neighbors from the other apartments on the same construction were loud at night.
Dirty
Liked: The place and the premises are lovely. But the sad thing is that it's not well kept.
Disliked: The place was dirty and smelled bad because of the humidity. Throughout the whole night, there was some loud noise, like from a generator. After complaining about the cleanliness, the owner offered for us to go check another one of the apartments to see if it's any cleaner and choose whether we would like to stay in the other one instead. Which didn't really make any difference since both places seemed to be in disrepair. It's a shame actually because the apartment basically had everything you needed, hairdryer, soap despensers, coffee machine, blender, toaster,... but all dirty, or rusty the soap dispenser empty, the sheets with staines that can't be washed, etc. The pictures on booking look lovely, and the reviews are quite high, so we didn't really think it would be any bad, but after seeing it in person we read through some reviews and there were plenty complaints about the cleanliness. So be aware before booking.
Liked: The apartment is perfectly situated in quiet mountain area. If you need to rest from busy city life this is exactly what you need.
Disliked: There is no washing machine in the apartment.
Very nice view, peaceful and quiet apartment
Liked: It took a few messages to request check in information before I receive the code, no instruction of the exact location of the property. We only based on the location on Booking.com and gone to the other side road at first, then we found the apartments, there are 4, two on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor, our one is apartment 3, we were walking around to see how to get to the property front door, luckly the family stayed next door spoted us and told us to walk up a staircase to get to the front door.
Disliked: Not much communication and not much helpful information from the host. A few more kitchen utensil would be good, especially knifes ( only one knife and one bread knife) and a peeler.
