  Liked: We had a fantastic stay at Villa Aurelia! The house is really spacious and comfortable, perfect for a family holiday. The bedrooms are well equipped, and having two with en-suite bathrooms was very convenient. Everything was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking at home. The outdoor area is amazing – we loved the pool and jacuzzi, and the kids had a great time with the table football, ping-pong and other games. The barbecue and different terraces gave us lots of options to relax, whether eating together outside or sunbathing on the rooftop solarium with a drink. The location is also excellent: the villa is in a quiet area but still close to Playa Flamingo and the town centre, with shops and restaurants just a short drive away. Having a supermarket nearby was very handy too. Overall, Villa Aurelia ticked all the boxes for us. It’s private, well equipped and perfect for families or groups of friends. We’d love to come back!

  Nice villa / Poor Management

  Liked: The villa itself is nice as there is lots of space, especially outside space, and things to do (pool, hot tub, roof terrace, ping-pong, football, fusbol table, TV). It is in a good location (20min walk to main part of town) and the villa is private and secure.

  Disliked: The villa is nice and fit for purpose with lots of space but it is a bit dated and needs some work - for example the shower in the double bedroom is literally hanging off the wall. We also struggled to use the oven as there are no markings for settings or temperature on the dials and the electric hob was locked which we only realised towards the end of our stay after Googling it. The villa is managed by Lanzarote Homes and we would avoid ever booking a property managed by them again. Although communication was generally good, we had some very negative experiences. Firstly, when they took payment, the exchange rate they used was heavily inflated over the actual exchange rate so we ended up being charged €150 / £130 more than was advertised and it should have been. We queried it but they just said that was the exchange rate and that was that. Then there is the fact that despite paying a lot of money for the villa, you have to pay for the air conditioning with €1 coins via a pay as you go machine! And there is only air con in the main double bedroom and twin bedroom. We also had an issue with access to the property. It is accessible by using a code which they gave us but on the 6th night, the code stopped working allmof a sudden. We only found out when we came back from being out for the evening so it was late. Tried calling them and messaging them but got no response as they only work during office hours. We ended up being stuck outside, unable to get in for over an hour in the early hours of the morning. We would have been completely stranded if we had not managed to find a way back in ourselves. They did apologise and then gave us a number for emergencies but unfortunately it was of no use by that point!

  Shame, Not worth the money!

  Liked: The location of the property was great and a good size for our family, nice pool and bonus of a hot tub, the sun terrace was nice too, but that’s about all.

  Disliked: The property is tired and could do with some money spent on it, it was pretty dirty when we arrived, the outside area was gritty with debris in areas and the inside was dusty in parts, the sun loungers need replacing to some newer ones too, the bathrooms were clean though. Unfortunately nothing is left in the villa for you to use to clean up, a vacuum would of been nice so we could keep on top of the dirty floor but there was an extra cleaning charge which we felt was really unfair considering what we paid to stay. The dustpan and brush was not sufficient enough to clean up. When you are paying a large sum you expect a property to be fully equipt with enough household items. Such a shame as it could be a lovely villa.

  Location and pool great, could do with some TLC

  Liked: Lots of space, good sized pool, good location. Great views from the roof.

  Disliked: We didn’t realise aircon was pay by the hour, so make sure to stock up on €1 euro coins.. not very clear when booking. Pool and hot tub were quite dirty when we arrived, however someone came to clean them after a few days and messages to the host. Beware steps in pool were in the deep end, so quite difficult to get in and out for shorter or older guests - we had to put a plastic step in. Loads of ants in the kitchen, couldnt leave any food on the side or in lower cupboards - even cereal boxes. Also a few cockroaches around, however sort of expected in lanzarote!
